WordPress is good cms to develop websites in small duration. Nowadays we are facing issues related to the WordPress Website Performance & Optimization. So today I will be explained the few general tips to overcome this issue and it will help to increase  WordPress Website Performance & Optimization and ultimately page speed also.

In the WordPress, there are many plugins available for Performance & Optimization but due to huge plugin activation automatically our page speed is increased. to overcome this issue we can use that plugins code into the .htaccess code so our performance & Optimization but we must have to use image optimization plugin to resize the image.

Avoid CSS @import Method

Introduction:

Always avoid @import method to include the one stylesheet into another stylesheet. Normally we are using below code in the master stylesheet to add another (style.css).

Coz doing this, a page can get additional time to load itself. so to overcome this method try to use below method to include the CSS.

If you are not able to use above method then you can use the WordPress enqueue method to do the same.


Avoid Landing Page Redirects

Introduction:

Always avoid landing page redirection coz, Redirections on landing pages or any other pages add delays to the page load and your visitors might get bored.

Solution:

If your service requires redirects, then try to perform the redirection server-side rather than client-side. Minimizing HTTP redirects from one URL to another cuts out additional RTTs and wait time for users.

Enable gzip compression

Introduction:

When your site visitors have been hit the web page then the request has been made to the server to deliver the requested data or files.When files are so heavy then might it will take the long duration to take for them to landing or displaying data.

Gzip compression compresses your web pages and style sheets before sending them over to the browser. This will reduces transfer time since the files are much smaller.

Solution:

Use below code and paste it into your .htaccess file to enable the gzip.

 


 

Enable Keep-Alive

Introduction:

After Enabling the Keep-Alive connections, It allows the same TCP connection to send and receive multiple HTTP requests.

Solution:

Place below code in the httpd.conf. file.

Leverage Browser Caching:

Introduction:

Every time browser loading the files and it has to download all the data and data can be a CSS, images, or Javascript code. Might be some Files are very large in the size.(e.g.  twitter.com site is large ) and some files are in kilobytes.

SO, These large files are taking a time to load the data so we are doing browser cache. Browser cache is saving some amount of files on the browsers and using it we can reduce the page load.

Solution:

Use below code and place it in the .htacess file.
